The world’s most fuel efficient and technologically advanced motorhome made its world debut in Australia this week, as it rolled off the production line to eagerly awaiting customers.
The stylish Swagman RV2801(28ft) uses world-first technology in that it has a one-piece carbon fibre/kevlar body. The patented "Armourshell" body is lighter and eight times stronger than traditional materials used in the industry. Underneath is a space frame designed purpose built Motorhome chassis which is light weight with six air bag suspension & ABS which together ensure a soft & smooth ride, just like driving a car.
By combining the composite body with the space frame chassis, up to 2 ton in weight has been taken out of the vehicle, making the motorhome extremely fuel efficient & economical to run.
Unlike most 28 ft Class-A motorhomes, the Swagman RV2801 has a rear mounted International Maxxforce5 V6 diesel engine with a 5-speed Allison transmission. The engine is Euro 5 / 2010 compliant for Australian vehicle emission standards.
"Swagman Motorhomes has combined world class features and technology into the body and chassis, providing the vehicle with an unbelievable fuel economy of around 14-16 ltrs per 100 kms" said Swagman Managing Director, Neil Ingram. The whole focus has been to develop a more fuel efficient and environmental friendly motorhome. The new model has been in development for the last 12 months and is a complete change from the previous Swagman 28 ft series.
The panoramic windscreen, with an ergonomically designed wrap-around dash, has electric leather seating and integrated, full colour touch screen GPS and reversing camera.
From the time you step inside the aesthetics are more in line with luxury car or motor yacht styling. Your home away from home features an elegant lounge and functional kitchen area with a full sized pantry. The bedroom contains a Queen sized bed and oversized wardrobe. The uniquely designed bathroom has a full sized shower, toilet, large mirror and vanity.
This 21st century Swagman motorhome is fully air-conditioned and has ample storage room for organised living for the most demanding occupant. Solid timber cabinetry and plush carpeting have been used throughout, all this and much more combined with quality craftsmanship, that Swagman motorhomes are renowned for.
All Swagman Motorhomes come with a five-year structural warranty, a three year bumper to bumper warranty and 24/7 roadside assistance, throughout Australia.
Mr Neil Ingram said pre orders have been beyond expectations indicating that the Swagman 28 Series will become one of their most popular models. "Demand has certainly surpassed our production."
This week’s world release follows the successful launch of the Swagman RV2801 at the RV China 2008 International Recreational Vehicle Show in Shanghai earlier this year.
Swagman Australia has signed a $100 million joint venture with Zhongtong Bus Holdings, the worlds largest bus manufacturer, to begin operations in China in 2008, with plans to move into the exciting US and European markets.
"We were always planning to look at the US market in 2009, and at this stage, we are still on track with this timeframe," said Mr Neil Ingram.
"Obviously we are keeping an eye on the US economy, but as we have received numerous enquiries from motorhome manufacturers and dealers, we are keen to break into this lucrative market when the time is right.
"We believe customers will embrace our unique technology, craftsmanship and fuel efficient motorhomes as most US Class-A’s under 33 feet are front engine and predominately gas powered."
